Summer in Illinois is officially in full swing, and people are eager to get out and take advantage of the warm weather. There are plenty of ways to be outside with your family (or roommates) while still social distancing \u2014 like going to a drive-in movie<\/a> or hanging out in a park<\/a> \u2014 but, if you\u2019re hoping to spend some time on the water, you can\u2019t just go sit on the beach<\/a> and take a dip in Lake Michigan as you might ordinarily. You can, however, go boating<\/a>, and luckily, there are a number of nearby spots that can help you do that.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a destination for water recreation, and considering just about every lake in the waterway includes at least one marina or boat ramp, the area is set up well to receive outdoor adventurers on the water.<\/p>\n

Snyder is an enthusiast of all things cultural in the Windy City. She is a core member\u00a0and social media coordinator of the\u00a0Chicago-based Zafa Collective, a contemporary classical music ensemble founded with the idea of inclusivity (both in programming and performance) at its core. Audrey has worked in pit orchestras at venues including the Cadillac Palace, Nederlander, CIBC, and Mariott Theatres, and more recently has performed with The Who on their Moving On! Tour in 2019. As the host of her podcast AudPod, she regularly features different folks in the Chicago music community.
