The previous plan, GO TO 2040, was unanimously enacted in 2010, and we\u2019ve seen multiple eco-friendly changes to Chicago since then.<\/p>\n<p>Among these, <a href=\"https:\/\/urbanmatter.com\/chicago\/a-complete-guide-to-the-chicago-riverwalk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Chicago Riverwalk<\/a>, which welcomes thousands of visitors on a daily basis. The Riverwalk is currently undergoing construction in some of the newer areas, though they\u2019re set to open to the public in 2016. The area was home to a large portion of events from Chi-Town Rising, our city\u2019s first massive New Year\u2019s Eve celebration.<\/p>\n<p>So while we don\u2019t know exactly what the future holds for Chicago, CMAP is working tirelessly to effectively refine the ongoing process of maintaining and enhancing Chicago\u2019s world-class elements.
