Now, I don\u2019t know about you, but for me that means one thing, and one thing only: time to hit the ice.<\/p>\n<p>In this city, we\u2019re fortunate to have several easily accessible outdoor ice rinks, in addition to the infamous rink at Rockefeller Center. So if you\u2019ve been there, done that, here are a few other outdoor rinks that you should really consider checking out this winter season:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/urbanmatter.com\/chicago\/bryant-park-winter-village\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Winter Village at Bryant Park<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<figure style=\"width: 1280px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-20235\" src=\"https:\/\/urbanmatter.com\/chicago\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/2016-12-09_-_Winter_Village_General_-_Colin_Miller_71-1.jpg\" alt=\"Outdoor Ice Skating\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Photo Credit: <a href=\"http:\/\/bryantpark.org\/amenities\/bank-of-america-winter-village-at-bryant-park\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bryant Park Winter Village<\/a><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Don\u2019t just visit the Winter Village for its charming holiday shops and food stands! Its outdoor rink is the heart and soul of the event, and although it might get a little bit crowded in the evenings, did I mention that it\u2019s free!? Be sure to bring your own skates, and lock, if you want to avoid fees!<\/p>\n<p>The rink is open daily from 8AM-10PM. Skate rentals are $20, lock purchase is $10.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bonus: Stop by on December 1<sup>st<\/sup> from 6:00PM-7:00PM for the annual tree lighting and <a href=\"http:\/\/bryantpark.org\/events\/2017\/12\/01\/tree-lighting-skate-tacular\">Skate-tacular<\/a>! The event will be hosted by Jane Krakowski, and will feature performances by Olympic and World Champion skaters!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wollmanskatingrink.com\/\"><strong>Wollman Rink<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<figure style=\"width: 698px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-20236\" src=\"https:\/\/urbanmatter.com\/chicago\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/getImage.jpg\" alt=\"Outdoor Ice Skating\" width=\"698\" height=\"393\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Photo Credit: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wollmanskatingrink.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wollman Rink<\/a><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Head to this rink if you\u2019re eager for ice skating with a view of the Manhattan skyline! Wollman is located smack-dab in the center of Central Park, and boy is it worth it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Weekday admission is $12, and $19 from Friday-Sunday and Holidays. Skate rentals are $9, lock rentals are $5. It\u2019s a tiny bit less picturesque, but the ice is really, really good \u2013and it\u2019s cheaper than many of the other options on this list!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Be warned, this outdoor ice rink is cash only. Admission rates are $8.50, and skate rentals are $7.50.
