The Chicago White Sox<\/strong> (63\u201399 last year) face the Los Angeles Angels (77\u201385) in spring training today, and this is actually kind of sad. They have Mike Trout\u2014one of the greatest players of all time\u2014and they’ve wasted his entire prime with terrible rosters and organizational incompetence. We lost 99 games and are in full rebuild mode.<\/p>\n

At least we have a plan. The Angels keep spinning their wheels, wasting Trout’s Hall of Fame career while never building a competent team around him. They went 77\u201385 last year\u2014better than us, but still eight games under .500 and going nowhere.<\/p>\n

Reid Detmers is a solid left-handed starter. Drew Thorpe is trying to earn a rotation spot. Logan O’Hoppe is emerging as a quality catcher. Colson Montgomery is trying to become our franchise cornerstone.<\/p>\n

For White Sox fans, this is just another spring evaluation. But watching Mike Trout in an Angels uniform is a reminder of what organizational failure looks like.<\/p>\n

          The Angels are better than us\u201477 wins vs our 63. But they’re still mediocre and wasting Mike Trout’s prime. At least we have a rebuild plan.<\/p>\n
