At 19-46 on the road this year, we know what we&#8217;re walking into, but maybe we can catch Minnesota napping after their big win over San Diego. First pitch is 2:10 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n<h2>Game Info<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>When:<\/strong> Monday, September 1, 2025 at 2:10 p.m. ET<\/li>\n<li><strong>Where:<\/strong> Target Field, Minneapolis<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pitchers:<\/strong> Bryse Wilson vs Bailey Ober (4-7, 5.13 ERA)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Records:<\/strong> White Sox terrible on road (19-46), Twins decent at home (35-32)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The Pitching Situation (Yikes)<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Bryse Wilson<\/strong> gets the start for us, and let&#8217;s just be honest about what we&#8217;re dealing with here. Wilson is 0-2 with a 6.95 ERA in 19 appearances this season. This is what happens when <strong>Aaron Civale<\/strong> gets claimed off waivers by the Cubs &#8211; we&#8217;re left scrambling for anybody who can take the ball.<\/p>\n<p>The Twins are going with <strong>Bailey Ober<\/strong>, who&#8217;s had his own struggles at 4-7 with a 5.13 ERA. But here&#8217;s the thing that hurts &#8211; he&#8217;s 6-2 with a 3.43 ERA against us in his career. Of course he is.<\/p>\n<h2>The Betting Reality Check<\/h2>\n<p>We&#8217;re getting +155 as road dogs while the Twins are heavy favorites at -190. Vegas is basically saying we have no shot, and honestly, with our road record, it&#8217;s hard to argue. The total is 9 runs, and most models think it&#8217;s going over.<\/p>\n<p>One prediction has us losing 5-4, which would actually feel like a moral victory given how we&#8217;ve played away from home this year.<\/p>\n<h2>Offensive Bright Spots (Yes, We Have Some)<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Lenyn Sosa<\/strong> continues to be our bright spot with 18 homers, 61 RBIs and a .269 average. <strong>Colson Montgomery<\/strong> has shown some pop too. We just snapped a losing streak by beating the Yankees 3-2, so maybe there&#8217;s a little momentum to build on.<\/p>\n<p>The Twins have <strong>Byron Buxton<\/strong>, who just hit his 29th homer and has absolutely crushed us over the years (23 career homers against us). The guy&#8217;s hitting .271 with 29 homers and 70 RBIs, so we&#8217;ll need to pitch around him carefully.<\/p>\n<h2>White Sox Fan Reality<\/h2>\n<p>Look, we&#8217;re 19-46 on the road. That&#8217;s historically bad. But we did just beat the Yankees at home, which felt pretty good after the season we&#8217;ve had. Maybe catching the Twins in an early afternoon game on Labor Day gives us a puncher&#8217;s chance.<\/p>\n<p>Wilson&#8217;s numbers are scary, but sometimes journeymen pitchers surprise you. And Ober&#8217;s been inconsistent this year despite his past success against us. If our hitters can work counts and get into their bullpen early, who knows?<\/p>\n<h2>The Labor Day Hope<\/h2>\n<p>It&#8217;s Labor Day, we&#8217;re playing meaningful baseball (okay, maybe not meaningful, but it&#8217;s still baseball), and anything can happen in a four-game series. We&#8217;re not asking for miracles &#8211; just competitive games and maybe steal one or two.<\/p>\n<p>At this point in the season, any road win feels like Christmas morning. If Wilson can somehow give us five decent innings and our offense can scratch across a few runs, we might surprise some people.<\/p>\n<h2>Bottom Line<\/h2>\n<p>We&#8217;re massive underdogs with a questionable starter against a team that&#8217;s had our number. But that&#8217;s been our season &#8211; nobody expects anything from us, so why not play loose and see what happens?<\/p>\n<p>Maybe the baseball gods will smile on us for once.
