Yeah, they&#8217;re 73-60 and we&#8217;re 48-85, but Davis Martin has been solid for us lately, and sometimes you catch a team at the right time.<\/p>\n<h2>Game Info<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>When:<\/strong> Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 7:40 p.m. ET<\/li>\n<li><strong>Where:<\/strong> Rate Field, Chicago<\/li>\n<li><strong>TV:<\/strong> CHSN, YES<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pitchers:<\/strong> Will Warren (7-6, 4.47 ERA) vs Davis Martin (5-9, 3.93 ERA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Why We Might Not Get Blown Out<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Davis Martin<\/strong> gets the ball for us, and he&#8217;s been one of our more reliable starters with a 3.93 ERA. Sure, he&#8217;s 5-9, but that record says more about our offense than his pitching. When Martin&#8217;s on, he can keep us in games.<\/p>\n<p>The Yankees are sending <strong>Will Warren<\/strong> to the mound. He&#8217;s 7-6 but has a 4.47 ERA, so our hitters should get some chances if they stay patient. Warren&#8217;s been inconsistent this year, and maybe we can catch him on an off night.<\/p>\n<h2>The Reality Check<\/h2>\n<p>Vegas has the Yankees as heavy favorites at -195, with us getting +162 as the home dogs. They&#8217;re also laying 1.5 runs on the run line. The over\/under is 9, which seems about right &#8211; both teams can score some runs.<\/p>\n<p>The numbers don&#8217;t lie &#8211; the Yankees win about 57% of games when favored, and we&#8217;re just 35.9% as underdogs this year. But hey, we&#8217;ve been playing better against the spread lately (7-3 in last 10), so maybe we can keep it close.<\/p>\n<h2>Offensive Matchup<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Aaron Judge<\/strong> is having another monster year &#8211; .323 average, 41 homers, 95 RBIs. That&#8217;s MVP-level stuff, and we&#8217;ll have to pitch around him carefully. <strong>Ben Rice<\/strong> has been hot lately too, so their lineup has some pop.<\/p>\n<p>For us, <strong>Lenyn Sosa<\/strong> continues to be our best hitter with 17 homers and 60 RBIs while hitting .270. <strong>Miguel Vargas<\/strong> and <strong>Andrew Benintendi<\/strong> need to step up if we&#8217;re going to have a chance. We need all hands on deck against this Yankees lineup.<\/p>\n<h2>Injury Concerns<\/h2>\n<p>Both teams are dealing with injuries. We&#8217;re still without <strong>Luis Robert Jr.<\/strong>, which hurts, and we&#8217;ve got several pitchers on the shelf. The Yankees are missing <strong>Gerrit Cole<\/strong> and <strong>Clarke Schmidt<\/strong>, so at least we&#8217;re not facing their ace.<\/p>\n<h2>White Sox Fan Hope<\/h2>\n<p>Look, we&#8217;re not kidding ourselves about what this season has been. At 48-85, we&#8217;re playing for pride and development at this point. But beating the Yankees at home would feel pretty damn good, especially with how they&#8217;ve dominated baseball over the years.<\/p>\n<p>One prediction has us losing just 5-4, which honestly would feel like a moral victory at this point. We&#8217;ve been hitting the over lately (6 of last 10), so maybe we can make it a fun, high-scoring game.<\/p>\n<h2>The Bottom Line<\/h2>\n<p>We&#8217;re massive underdogs, but that&#8217;s nothing new this year. Sometimes the underdog bites back, and with Martin on the mound at home, we might surprise some people.<\/p>\n<p>At the very least, let&#8217;s make Judge and company work for it. A competitive game against the Yankees would go a long way toward showing we&#8217;re not completely dead in the water.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s hoping for a good crowd and maybe a little magic on the
