KC leads the season series 8-3, and they&#8217;ve won 17 of the last 20 games against us. But hey, we&#8217;re on a three-game winning streak and playing with some confidence, so maybe we can make things interesting.<\/p>\n<h2>Game Info<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>When:<\/strong> Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Rate Field<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pitchers:<\/strong> Michael Lorenzen (5-8, 4.50 ERA) vs Mart\u00edn P\u00e9rez (1-3, 2.51 ERA)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Records:<\/strong> Royals 67-65, White Sox 48-83<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Finally, A Pitching Advantage?<\/h2>\n<p>For once, we might actually have the better starter on the mound. <strong>Mart\u00edn P\u00e9rez<\/strong> has been solid since joining us, posting a 2.51 ERA and holding opponents to just a .194 average. He&#8217;s only made five starts, but two have been quality outings, and he&#8217;s been keeping runs off the board.<\/p>\n<p>The Royals are sending <strong>Michael Lorenzen<\/strong> out there, and he&#8217;s been pretty hittable this year. Opponents are batting .265 against him with a 4.50 ERA. He&#8217;s had some decent starts (seven quality starts), but our hitters should have a chance to get to him.<\/p>\n<h2>The Betting Reality<\/h2>\n<p>Vegas still likes the Royals, making them slight favorites at around -115 to -124. We&#8217;re getting +100 to +104 as the home dogs, which honestly feels about right given our records. The total is sitting at 8 to 8.5 runs.<\/p>\n<p>One projection actually has us winning 5-4, which would be nice, but most models give KC about a 51-52% chance to win. At least it&#8217;s close on paper.<\/p>\n<h2>Why We Might Have a Chance<\/h2>\n<p>Look, we&#8217;re not kidding ourselves about what this season has been. At 48-83, we&#8217;re playing out the string and hoping the young guys continue developing. But we are riding a three-game win streak, and the Royals have been struggling lately (2-4 in their last six).<\/p>\n<p>Kansas City is still fighting for a playoff spot at 67-65, so they&#8217;ll be motivated, but maybe we can catch them looking ahead or dealing with some pressure.<\/p>\n<h2>The Historical Reality Check<\/h2>\n<p>The numbers don&#8217;t lie &#8211; KC has had our number for years now. But that&#8217;s exactly why pulling off a win or two in this series would feel so good. Sometimes teams just have your number until they don&#8217;t, and maybe Tuesday night is when we start turning the tide.<\/p>\n<h2>White Sox Fan Perspective<\/h2>\n<p>We&#8217;re not asking for miracles here. A competitive game would be nice. Maybe steal one or two from a team that&#8217;s actually playing for something. With P\u00e9rez on the mound and our recent hot streak, we&#8217;ve got as good a shot as we&#8217;re going to get.<\/p>\n<p>At this point in the season, any win feels good, but beating KC would feel even better.
