Ouch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What does that mean exactly? 89% of Americans have a better chance of finding their one true love in a place other than Chicago. Considering the size and stature of the Windy City, we\u2019re a little surprised, and a lot embarrassed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Illinois\u2019 next largest city, Aurora fared even worse, coming in at number 141 out of the 150 metro areas included in the study.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So why did Chicago rank so poorly? Cost was a huge factor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The city was rated the 8<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> most expensive place to see a movie and the 15<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> most expensive to eat out at a restaurant. We finished at 149 out of 150 in the expensive booze category too. The icing on the cake: 116<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the online dating opportunities column.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our best rank came in % of Single Persons, in which Chicago finished 26<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. At least we know there are others like us out there, right?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In fact, that bright spot is actually quite the silver lining. It doesn\u2019t mean there aren\u2019t singles or fun things to do in Chicago, it simply means that you\u2019ll have to fork over some dough to do them. Obviously this isn\u2019t ideal, but it\u2019s still better than having nothing to do at all.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Top Cities\u00a0for Singles<\/b><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1) Salt Lake City<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2) Orlando<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3) Tempe<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4) Atlanta<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5) Scottsdale<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Worst Cities\u00a0for Singles<\/b><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1) Yonkers, New York<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2) Hialeah, Florida<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3) North Las Vegas<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4) Glendale, California<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5) Detroit<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Well, at least we\u2019re not Yonkers, New York or any of the other worst cities for singles (sorry guys).<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Grab your winter cuddle buddy while you still can.
