What started as three plungers, now has flourished to over 2,000 participants within the last few years. Since 2001, the club brings together people of all kinds to partake on the daring challenge of diving into the wintry Lake Michigan for a wonderful cause. All proceeds this year goes to benefiting 3 real <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagopolarbearclub.com\/2020-families\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">families<\/a> of Chicago. Previous raisings have been over $270,000, the amount continuing to rise each year the polar plunge persists.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagopolarbearclub.com\/take-the-plunge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Registration<\/a> for the plunge is $30 per person. Volunteers who create their own fundraiser page and raise $100 or more will receive a free CPBC T-shirt. While you&#8217;re there, take a look at CPBC&#8217;s T-shirts, hoodies, and hats on sale.<\/li>\n<li>The plunge starts right at 12 pm, so be on time. All plungers will take the dive together, so keep you&#8217;re ears and eyes open for the final announcement.<\/li>\n<li>All plungers must wear shoes!<\/li>\n<li>Bring a pair of warm clothing. Bathrobes are welcomed.<\/li>\n<li>Costumes are <em>highly<\/em> encouraged. So dress-up for the chance to win their costume contest.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure to enjoy the afterparty at Moe&#8217;s Cantina River North from 1:30 &#8211; 4:30 pm! You&#8217;ll need to grab <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagopolarbearclub.com\/take-the-plunge\/polar-plunge-bundle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tickets<\/a> for both, so make sure to choose the bundle package when you register.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Saturday is expected to be a very chilly day, so grab friends and family to join with you for daring support and embrace the chilly challenge for a heartwarming cause.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At UrbanMatter, U Matter.
