The 28th Annual Green Tie Ball: I Dream of Greenie<\/a> is coming back to Chicago on Friday, September 13, 2019<\/strong>, from 6:30 pm – midnight. And their special guest? None other than Fall Out Boy’s bassist and lyricist, Pete Wentz, scheduled to end the night with a killer DJ set.<\/p>\n

Some of Chicago’s most influential professionals and celebrities will gather at Alhambra Palace for the iconic Chicago Gateway Green fundraising event. Co-Chairs Grant DePorter and Lee Golub have pulled together a truly all-star team to make this year’s event the greatest party to hit Chicago.<\/p>\n

The Green Tie Ball Chicago Gateway Green event has been a Chicago staple for years. It is one of the most anticipated galas in the city, boasting the best venues, decor, live entertainment, and guest list around. Inspired by the classic American fantasy sitcom starring Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman, I Dream of Jeannie, <\/em>this year’s Green Tie Ball will transport guests to Jeannie\u2019s bottle with its Moorish art, intricate gilded doorways, hand-painted tiles, stone mosaics, and crystal chandeliers.<\/p>\n

Guests at the Green Tie Ball Chicago Gateway Green festival\u00a0can sample gourmet bites from 25 participating Chicago restaurants and enjoy premium craft cocktails from the open bars. Gaming is provided by Rivers Casino and entertainment features DJ Pete Wentz, alongside popular cover band Dr. Bombay, and many other Chicago favorites. There will also be a silent auction to benefit Chicago Gateway Green<\/a>, which is committed to greening and beautifying Chicago\u2019s expressways, gateways, and communities.<\/p>\n

Fall Out Boy is a Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum band and one of modern rock music’s biggest-selling acts. They debuted their seventh studio album, Mania<\/em>, on tour at Wrigley Field<\/a> last September, since the band hails from the outskirts of Chicago. Bringing Pete back for the Green Tie Ball is a homecoming of sorts, since he last DJ’ed the event in 2012, and we’re more than stoked to see what he pulls together for this year’s DJ set.<\/p>\n
