February might be long gone, but winter in the city isn’t leaving any time soon. Nope, now that it’s March in Illinois, Chicagoans are left stuck somewhere between bundling up in our puffy coats in the morning and rolling our windows in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

Lucky for us, Chicago’s amazing museums and exhibits are offering plenty of free admission days to help you escape the ever-changing havoc of the weather outside.<\/p>\n

Here’s are the free museum days coming to the city in March.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Art Institute<\/a>:\u00a0<\/strong>If you are under the age of 18 and live in Chicago, great news! You can get in for free always! But if you’re over the age of 18, every Thursday evening between 5 pm and 8 pm, you can see the beautiful art of Jackson Pollack, Monet, Picasso and Warhol for free!<\/p>\n

Chicago Botanic Garden<\/strong><\/a>:\u00a0This spot is free every day, but parking can be expensive. Opt to take a train instead \u2014 the Union Pacific North line stops right by the entrance.<\/p>\n

Chicago Children\u2019s Museum<\/a><\/strong>: Free every Thursday from 5pm \u2013 8pm, and every first Sunday of the month.<\/p>\n

Chicago History Museum<\/strong><\/a>: Every Tuesday is free for Illinois residents between 12:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Clarke House Museum<\/strong><\/a>:\u00a0Free admission every day to Chicago\u2019s oldest standing home.<\/p>\n

DePaul Art Museum<\/strong><\/a>: Free admission every day.<\/p>\n

The DuSable Museum of African American History<\/a><\/strong>: Free admission on Tuesdays.<\/p>\n

The Field Museum<\/strong><\/a>:\u00a0Entry for Illinois residents is free all month long!<\/p>\n

Loyola University Museum\u00a0of\u00a0Art<\/strong><\/a>:\u00a0If you want to see the work of local students, you can check it out for free on Tuesdays.<\/p>\n

McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum<\/strong><\/a>:\u00a0Free admission every Sunday.<\/p>\n

Museum of Contemporary Art<\/strong><\/a>: If you\u2019re an Illinois resident, admission is free every Tuesday.<\/p>\n

National Museum of Mexican Art<\/a><\/strong>: Free admission every day.<\/p>\n

International Museum of Surgical Science<\/a><\/strong>: Free admission every Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Swedish American Museum<\/a><\/strong>: Free every second Tuesday of the month.<\/p>\n

Museum of Science and Industry:<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>March 14th is the only free day for the month of March. Take a trip to the world of science, industry, tech and the human body with special exhibits like Brick by Brick, Extreme Ice and the science of storms! It’s hands on and great for the whole family or just for a little bit of solo learning.<\/p>\n

Lincoln Park Zoo:<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>Admission is free to any visitor all year round!<\/p>\n
