Returning for its 52nd year, Andersonville Midsommarfest<\/a> is one of the best (if not the<\/em> best) street festivals on the more northern part of the city. On June 9 – 11, enjoy one of Chicago’s most diverse festivals stemming from Swedish culture as it takes over Clark Street from Foster to Catalpa.<\/p>\n

So what are you in for? There’s live music on five different stages including local band, DJ, and dance troupe performances, delicious international food from local and regional vendors, and kids activities such as face painting and a pet costume parade. Not to mention, nearby restaurants will be offering unbeatable specials and the Swedish American Museum will be offering free admission for the entire weekend. That’s plenty of fun for only a $10 donation (kids 12 and under and seniors are free), which helps the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce continue to bring awesome events to the neighborhood.<\/p>\n

Speaking of other Andersonville events, there’s plenty more happening throughout the season, such as the Andersonville Farmers Market<\/a> running now through August 30, the Andersonville Sidewalk Sale<\/a> on July 28 – 30, and the Taste of Andersonville Dinner Crawl<\/a> on August 9.<\/p>\n
