This Art Deco structure was completed in 1929 and was converted into a hotel in 2004. The design by the Burnham Brothers is supposedly said to resemble a champagne bottle with 24 karat gold foil atop the structure. A champagne bottle epitomizes the Roaring Twenties, the Jazz Age, and contrasts (or is a big middle finger to) the Prohibition Era.
