{"id":15233,"date":"2017-03-30T11:01:52","date_gmt":"2017-03-30T16:01:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/urbanmatter.com\/chicago\/?p=15233"},"modified":"2020-06-23T11:05:16","modified_gmt":"2020-06-23T16:05:16","slug":"wrigleyville-plaza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/urbanmatter.com\/chicago\/wrigleyville-plaza\/","title":{"rendered":"New Plaza in Wrigleyville Will Have Outdoor Movies and a Farmers Market"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"arIndex_0\">Wrigleyville has been undergoing a major transformation, and its highly anticipated centerpiece is finally coming to life. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parkatwrigley.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Park at Wrigley<\/a>, an expansive indoor and outdoor restaurant and entertainment complex at Clark and Waveland right next to <a href=\"https:\/\/urbanmatter.com\/wrigley-field\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wrigley Field<\/a>, will offer plenty of activities to Cubs fans and tourists.<\/p>\n<p id=\"arIndex_1\">In light of the <a href=\"https:\/\/urbanmatter.com\/cubs-world-series-movie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cubs&#8217; 2016 World Series<\/a> win, investment into Wrigleyville has been on the rise, especially on the <a href=\"https:\/\/urbanmatter.com\/moes-cantina-wrigleyville-rooftop-bar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Clark Street bar strip<\/a>. The indoor portion of the plaza will feature a bi-level Chicago Cubs merchandise store, a restaurant that&#8217;s due to open later this year, a Starbucks, and a trophy room where the Commissioner&#8217;s Trophy will be displayed. Outdoor activities at the plaza include a weekly Green City Market hosted by Crate &amp; Barrel, open-air movie nights hosted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicboxtheatre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Music Box Theatre<\/a>, and live performances hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oldtownschool.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Old Town School of Folk Music<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"arIndex_2\">The plaza, developed by Hickory Street Capital, is expected to open a handful of stores to the public in time for the opener game against the Dodgers on April 10, which is also when the ribbon cutting ceremony will take place.<\/p>\n<p id=\"arIndex_3\">The Park at Wrigley invites you to enjoy every game day at the park, and will hold special events throughout the season. The first event will be a &#8220;Craft and Cuisine&#8221; food and craft beer festival on May 13 &#8211; 14.
