Neighborhood Scout is an online analytics database and every year they release a list of the safest cities in America. They base this information off of the total number of violent and property crimes per 1,000 residents. The data also includes the total number of crimes in each city reported to the FBI.<\/p>\n

This could be considered a great resource for families looking for a great neighborhood to raise children. Or, if you\u2019d just like some peace of mind knowing that you\u2019re less likely to experience danger where you live, you might consider using this list as a resource.<\/p>\n

This year, plenty of Chicago suburbs ranked in. For 2017, of places with 25,000 or more residents, there were 19 towns from Illinois listed as some of the safest in the U.S., and two even made the top 10. Lake in the Hills and Bartlett were named some of the safest cities in the U.S. Safer than 90% to be exact.<\/em><\/p>\n
