{"id":12839,"date":"2017-01-11T15:40:58","date_gmt":"2017-01-11T20:40:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/urbanmatter.com\/chicago\/?p=12839"},"modified":"2017-01-17T11:57:00","modified_gmt":"2017-01-17T16:57:00","slug":"chicago-food-hall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/urbanmatter.com\/chicago\/chicago-food-hall\/","title":{"rendered":"The Loop is Getting Another Food Hall This Summer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"arIndex_0\">This past summer, we reported on the opening of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/urbanmatter.com\/revival-food-hall-opening-tomorrow\/\" target=\"_blank\">Revival Food Hall<\/a>\u00a0at The National building,\u00a0but there\u2019s an all-new food hall coming to town.<\/p>\n<p id=\"arIndex_1\">Wells St. Market, the latest food hall to set up shop in the Loop, is supposed to be\u00a0<em>big<\/em>. The project was first announced in July and for partner Michael Marsal, founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alvarezandmarsal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alvarez\u00a0&amp; Marsal Property Investments<\/a>, figuring out a location for the food hall was the first step. What better place then near The Loop, the Central Business District of Chicago?<\/p>\n<p id=\"arIndex_2\">Eight vendors are currently confirmed though they&#8217;ve\u00a0yet to be disclosed. Marsal hinted that there will be a mix of local and national establishments\u00a0in the bunch, including a\u00a0Chicago staple\u00a0that will finally have\u00a0a permanent location. Any guesses?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p id=\"arIndex_4\" dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Holabird &amp; Root is excited to take part in Chicago&#8217;s next downtown food hall, Wells St. Market! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/grGfJMOaBq\">https:\/\/t.co\/grGfJMOaBq<\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"arIndex_5\" style=\"text-align: center;\">\u2014 Holabird &amp; Root (@HolabirdRoot) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HolabirdRoot\/status\/819193419931197440\">January 11, 2017<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p id=\"arIndex_6\"><script src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"arIndex_8\">The 10,500 square-foot food hall will be located at 205 West Wacker, on the corner of Wacker Drive and Wells Street. The visuals are still a work in progress but Marsal\u00a0shared\u00a0that the building design, overseen by local architectural group\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/holabird.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Holabird &amp; Root<\/a>, will feature a more classic outer look with floor-to-ceiling windows that will open during summer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we continue to develop this exciting project, we\u2019re proud to bring on strong local partners who have tremendous reputations of being the best-in-class in their respective fields,\u201d says Michael Marsal, Founding Partner of AMPI. \u201cCustomers will have the opportunity to enjoy delicious, diverse food options in an inviting and social atmosphere, and we\u2019re confident that the team we\u2019ve assembled will be instrumental in executing our vision for Wells St. Market.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"arIndex_9\">Food halls are growing in popularity in the city, as it seems that consolidating popular restaurants into one accessible location for nearby professionals is a convenient and profitable move.
