Opening in 1926, the theater was made a city-wide landmark in 2002 and a National Historic Landmark in 2017. Closing down briefly in 2013 over safety concerns, the theater re-opened in 2015 and is now set to undergo massive reconstruction over the next few years. Although only open to the public via architecture tours or visits for the next few months, The Congress Theater has been home to the likes of Billy Idol, Nine Inch Nails and Riot Fest \u2013 securing it\u2019s place among our list of Logan Square\u2019s best venues regardless.
