Now that the Cubs have advanced to the World Series, seats to attend have become the hottest tickets in town, and possibly of all time.

Of course, the dream is to see the Cubs play the World Series at Wrigley Field, but prices for home games are astronomical. Right now, they’re averaging out at over $3,000 for bleacher seats on SeatGeek, and the seats near infield and outfield are well into the $4,000 to $5,000 range. Assuming all looks bright for the Cubs, it’ll only get steeper.

You’re much better off buying a ticket to one of the first couple games at Progressive Field because they’re currently less than half the cost of those at home. StubHub lists them as starting at $650 for this Wednesday’s game. Getting to Cleveland is only five hours by car, so it isn’t by any means a hassle to get there. When it comes to experiencing a once-in-a-lifetime event, taking a quick hike to the state next door is a no-brainer.

As of now, tickets to the World Series games are shaping up to be the most expensive sporting event tickets in history, according to USA Today. They’re already surpassing the Super Bowl. If it happens, prices for the tentative Game 7 will skyrocket.

To all you lucky Cubs fans who won’t be watching the games from your sofa, we’re sure this purchase won’t come with any regrets. We’ve got high hopes for the Cubs this time around.
