Andrew‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Garfield Tells Why He Won’t Share His Love Life With Anybody

Andrew Garfield is effectively avoiding questions regarding his love life.
The After the Hunt actor—who was rumored to be dating the A Complete Unknown actress Monica Barbaro since February—mentioned that he has been increasingly protective of his privacy, especially when it comes to dating.
“It really feels like a kind of destruction of my inner world, my very private world,” Andrew told Vanity Fair in an interview that was published on Nov. 18. “I thought perhaps it would become easier at some point but I’m very shocked to say that it hasn’t.”
And though he has been seeing with a little luck—like a trip to the West End in February and after partying at an Oscars with Barbaro—he sets up a strong boundary in not talking about it.
“I have never, and I will never, talk about my personal life with anyone, or confirm, or deny anything to anyone,” he told Esquire last October. ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌“Never.”

Andrew‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Garfield Mulls Over Idea That He Opened Too Much About Emma Stone Romance

However, Andrew Garfield was significantly more willing to share his details of the relationship with ex-costar Emma Stone, a relationship that lasted from 2011 to 2015. In a Vanity Fair interview, when the same person asked about the fan theory that La La Land is a reflection of their romance, he only said, “I suppose people need something to believe in.”
During the time when they were acting as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man movies, Andrew didn’t hesitate to Emma’s abilities publicly like he just did to Zendaya when he said she was the one who was raising Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in their Spider-Man ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌era.

Emma Stone—who is the mother of daughter Louise, 4, and is married to Dave McCary—has also had a look back with love on their time as costars and partners.
“I mean I really loved doing Spider-Man,” she told Vogue in August. “I loved everyone I worked with. I met Andrew there. It was a really special time in my ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌life.”
