Celebrities Are Still Talking About Ozempic—Whether They’re Using It or Not
Hey, hey, hey… yes, we are still discussing Ozempic.
Back in the day when the brand-name injectable weight-loss drug rose to fame like other semaglutide medications such as Mounjaro, Wegovy and Rybelsus, most celebrity comments fell into two categories only: either joking about how the drug was everywhere or denying they were using it.
Khloé Kardashian, for example. After a January 2023 Instagram post made people accuse her of slimming down with the help of Ozempic, she responded in the comment section:
“Let’s not take away the credit for my years of working out. I get up 5 days a week at 6am to train. Please stop with your assumptions.”
Whether it’s denials, confessions, or just throwing shade at the trend, talks about Hollywood and Ozempic are definitely far from over.

Celebs on Ozempic: “Who Cares?” vs. “Be Honest”
Khloé Kardashian has been very clear about her stance. She is against anyone verbally abusing a person who uses meds to lose weight.
“I even think if people get surgery or jump on the Ozempic craze, I don’t give it a damn!” The Kardashians star said to Bustle in December. “If people are happy with themselves, I am not their judge!”
On the other hand, Amy Schumer is more concerned about the secrecy around the drug rather than the drug itself. The actress and comedian stated that she used to take the drug – “I was one of those people that felt so sick and couldn’t play with my son,” she revealed – and she has slammed stars who refuse to admit they too have done it.
Celebrities Are Finally Truthfully Talking About Ozempic and GLP‑1 Weight Loss
“Everybody is gonna try it, even their mom, everybody has been lying, a lot of people have been saying smaller portions only,” Amy Schumer told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live in June 2023. “Like, come on, you are on Ozempic or one of those things. At least just don’t make yourself out a liar by going, ‘Oh no, I just ate smaller portions.'”
So, when she announced a 50-pound weight loss earlier this month, she was very transparent. She was dealing with Cushing syndrome and endometriosis and revealed in a now-removed Instagram post, “I’ve had plastic surgeries over the years and I use Mounjaro.”
Andy Cohen, the show host, has also revealed that “I lost quite a bit of weight by taking micro-doses of a GLP-1.”
It doesn’t end here. Serena Williams revealed in August that she lost 31 pounds with a GLP-1 and Amanda Bynes announced on Dec. 22 that she “lost 28lbs on ozempic!”
More and more, stars aren’t pretending it’s just “smaller portions” anymore.

Whitney Leavitt
Whitney Leavitt, who stars in Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, had been pretty open about her use of semaglutide injections for weight loss even before her Dancing With the Stars appearance. The drug is marketed under various brand names such as Ozempic and Wegovy.
“I’m on a secret sauce,” she explained in a YouTube video she posted in January 2023. “It’s annihilating the fat and I’m just urinating it out. Well, at least, that’s the way I understand it.”

Jonathan Van Ness
Jonathan Van Ness revealed in October 2025 that they started taking a GLP‑1 drug in 2023 after a health scare.
“So I made a decision after the health scare that I would get a colonoscopy,” they elaborated in a TikTok video, “and the next day, if I was totally fine, I was going to start a GLP‑1 therapy, because I just wasn’t feeling my best.”
“After getting into the Pilates classes at Solidcore, and losing weight, my body has never looked like this,” Jonathan stated. “I have always thought about having abs, but I’ve never had them. And I’m feeling so good, that I’m taking my shirt off a lot.”
Following a weight loss of 70 pounds aided by the medicine, they still emphasized the importance of body positivity: “I’m a big fan of body neutrality. Your appearance is not how your worth is measured, it’s not how lovable you are. You are loveable and deserving of celebration no matter what your body looks like.”

Meghan Trainor
Meghan Trainor disclosed that she and her husband, Daryl Sabara, approached weight loss as a mutual effort. After they had their first child Riley in 2021, the two of them went through the extremely challenging 75 Hard program together — “and, man, we crushed it,” she reminisced on their Workin’ On It podcast episode that aired April 9.
“Then, we kept hearing more and more of our friends—actually, even our doctors—were on Mounjaro and Ozempic,” she explained.
The two of them opted to use a minimal dose of Mounjaro, combining the injections with consistent exercise and healthy eating. “Daryl and I are really close, so when one of us decides to do something, the other one is right there at the same time,” said the “All About That Bass” vocalist. “And we started that journey.”

Kendra Wilkinson
Once, Kendra Wilkinson who was a part of the Girls Next Door only tried weight-loss injectable once—and she was done. “I was doing the weight loss shots,” she revealed on her Instagram Stories in April 2025. “However, I only did one. Never mind. Throwing it out!!”
She also revealed that what scared her the most was what she heard from other people. “There are too many people telling horror stories around me,” the ex-Playboy model went on. “Some people even have to be rushed to the ER after the shots. There are also cases of people having to undergo surgeries. I’m not interested.”

Nikki Glaser
The host of Golden Globes Nikki Glaser has been one of the most vocal supporters of Ozempic among the people who use it, and she has been pleading with folks to be more open about their use of the medication.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in March 2025, she said, “It’s great. I’m like, ‘Go for it!’” “No judgment from me. If you want to be on Ozempic, then that’s really good for you, girl.”
“I want people to be able to talk about it more openly without feeling embarrassed because it seems to me that there is this feeling of being ashamed,” she explained. “And actually, the only time the shame comes is from slim people who want you to stay overweight. That is really the source. They are so furious that you are becoming thin because that is all they have, right? You are full of life, you have a beautiful personality, and they are so mad.”

Brooks Nader
Model Brooks Nader disclosed in December 2024 that she had a very short course of Ozempic before becoming a contestant On Dancing With the Stars, and in the end, she figured that it was not worth it.
“Like, I only took a tiny bit of it at first when it first came out and everyone was doing it,” she told Us Weekly. “It made me extremely sick. I liked it—I am not going to lie—and when I got on Dancing with the Stars, I just absolutely could not do both.”
Brooks Nader stated that a thing she noticed about drug usage was that “you lose a little bit the motivation and the strength to work out.” Ultimately, the decision was for her a question of choosing between two things: “It was one or the other,” Brooks said, “and I chose dancing. I put the shot away.”

Bonnie Chapman
Bonnie Chapman, Dog the Bounty Hunter’s kid, opened up about her weight loss journey in November 2024, sharing that she had dropped 58 pounds in 10 months by making changes in her diet and taking tirzepatide, a weight‑loss drug. “Now, I can look at myself in the mirror and be so proud of how far I’ve come,” she said.
However, Bonnie was not able to use Ozempic. On the eve of her transition, Bonnie said she had a “rough go” with the medication. “I really didn’t like it,” she told E! News. “I was feeling sick all the time and I just could not eat. Sometimes I didn’t eat at all. My body didn’t react well to it.”

Lizzo
When Lizzo posted a photo of herself looking slimmer, fans were quick to speculate on social media that she might be on Ozempic. She responded in a fun way by posting a video featuring a viral Django Unchained sound (“It’s like a reward”), thus avoiding a direct answer for the time being.
Eventually, she admitted that she indeed had tried injectable weight-loss drugs. “I tried everything,” she told the host Trisha Paytas during an episode of the Just Trish podcast in June 2025, also explaining why she decided to stop using the GLP-1 drugs.
“Ozempic helps you to eat less, that’s right? So it struggles to find the line if you eat healthy as it makes you full,” she elaborated. “But if you’re able to do that just by yourself and get control over your brain, it’s the same thing.”
Lottie Moss
Lottie Moss has described using Ozempic as “the worst decision I ever made.”
In an episode of her Dream On podcast aired in September 2024, she, the younger sister of Kate Moss, revealed that she took a dose designed for someone weighing around 220 pounds or more. Shortly after that, she was unable to keep any food or water down and had to go to the hospital.
“I actually had a seizure because of severe dehydration, which in fact is the most frightening thing that has happened to me in my life,” she said. “My friend was holding my feet because I was convulsing. It was extremely frightening, the whole scenario. My face was getting clenched, and I was tense all over.”

Tracy Morgan
Tracy Morgan hasn’t been shy—and typically humorous—about revealing his struggle with Ozempic.
Back in August 2023 the 30 Rock star told Hoda & Jenna on Today that using the medicine was enough to make him lose weight as it curbed his hunger.
In March 2024 during The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he quipped that his story had shifted: “I’ve learned to eat more than what Ozempic allows. I went up 40 pounds.”
When the time for few days have passed, he told E! News that he was joking and underlined the fact that “Ozempic treated me well and I was happy to use it.”
Caroline Stanbury
Caroline Stanbury, one of the Real Housewives of Dubai, recently confessed her use of Ozempic after having a “midlife crisis” at 45.
“We all know it becomes very, very hard to lose weight after 40”, she explained on the May 22 episode of her podcast Uncut & Uncensored With Caroline Stanbury. “But I met so many women who were 40 years old and going, ‘How have you done it?’ And I don’t want to lie to you, I used Ozempic, which, in my opinion, is one of the best tools if you’re able to use it.”

Kandi Burruss
Kandi Burruss has spoken openly about how the injectables like Ozempic did not work for her in the way that was promised.
In June 2024, the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum disclosed that the drug didn’t help her hunger at all.
“It didn’t reduce my hunger. I know some people are like, ‘Oh, I can’t eat.’ I was actually eating appetizers, a regular meal, and dessert, okay? It didn’t stop anything for me,” she explained.
Being unable to produce results while others were successful brought her down emotionally. “It made me depressed when I saw that it worked for other people, but it didn’t work for me,” she revealed. “For me, it just makes you feel like, ‘What is wrong with me? Why is it that it won’t work for me?'”
Jade Thirlwall
Jade Thirlwall, formerly of Little Mix and a vocal advocate for people with eating disorders, recently acknowledged that it has been hard to not be influenced by the buzz around Ozempic when her weight is being discussed online.
In her conversation with The Guardian (August 2025), the singer revealed that, “Every day I struggle with the temptation to use Ozempic. I know in my heart that I shouldn’t because of my past with anorexia and bulimia, and that’s why I am afraid that if I start taking something like this, it could be the beginning of a new and dangerous path for me. While, I don’t blame people who decide to use the drug.”

Tori Spelling
After the birth of her son Beau in 2017, Tori Spelling revealed that she sought weight‑loss injectables as a way to return to her pre-pregnancy shape.
“I gave Ozempic a go but it was a no for me,” she revealed on her misSPELLING podcast in April 2024. “Then I went on Mounjaro and it kind of worked. I definitely lost some weight.”
Sharon Osbourne
During the month of September 2023, Sharon Osbourne made it known that she dropped 42 pounds with the aid of Ozempic which she used in the first quarter of the year.
“It’s entirely up to you what you decide to do as far as weight loss is concerned,” said The Talk U.K. presenter to E! News. “One shouldn’t be ashamed or keep it as a dirty little secret if he/she has used something to help him/her lose weight, and that is totally fine.”
Moreover, she said without mincing words, “Surely we don’t have to bulls–t one another.”
Kate Winslet
For a long time, Kate Winslet’s body has been the main focus of tabloid rumors, and the actress is pretty much indifferent to the frenzy of weight-loss trends.
During an interview with The New York Times Magazine in March 2024 she said, “Actually, I have no idea what Ozempic is.” “The only thing I know is that it’s some kind of pill that people are taking or something,” she added.
Once the interviewer told her it is a weight-loss injectable drug, her reaction was quick: “Oh, my God. This sounds awful.”

Heidi Montag
Heidi Montag insists that her recent weight loss has nothing to do with Ozempic or any other drug for quick results.
Back in December 2023, the reality TV star revealed she lost 22 pounds, and according to Page Six
, she accomplished this without the drug. “There are no shortcuts in life. And if you are taking that shortcut, I don’t know,” she said while talking about celebrities who turn to Ozempic. “I don’t want to mention names or dwell on it, it’s just something I would never do.”
“I want something that is going to last,” Heidi said. “I want something that also does involve the real effort.”
Amy Schumer
Amy Schumer has been very vocal about being honest when it comes to using Ozempic and other weight loss drugs.
While on the Watch What Happens Live show on June 8, 2023, the Trainwreck actress publicly criticized famous people who refuse to admit they use such medications:
“Everyone and their mom is gonna try it. Everyone has been lying saying, ‘Oh, smaller portions,’” she told Andy Cohen. “Like, shut the f–k up. You are on Ozempic or one of those things, or you got work done. Just stop.”
Schumer, who has always been honest about her cosmetic procedures in the past, said, “Just be real with the people. I got lipo when I got lipo, and I told people.”
At first, she was “immediately hooked” on Ozempic in 2022 but later quit the drug because it was not “livable” for her:
“I was one of those people who got so sick I couldn’t play with my son,” she said. “I was so skinny, and he was throwing a ball at me and I [couldn’t do anything].”
Dr. Drew Pinsky
In a September 2023 interview Dr. Drew Pinsky expressed his view on the use of Ozempic and other GLP‑1 drugs pointing out that people seem to have a divided opinion about such treatments.
“People seem to be quite unsettled with such kinds of interventions,” he said to E! News at Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test season two event in LA on Sept. 12, 2023. “They’re very much attracted to it but at the same time, they have this sort of odd judgment.”
He also said, “If we have a drug that may serve as a treatment, then certainly, people should be motivated to consider it.”

Sophie Turner
Forget the cold season; a spicy comment is on its way.
The Game of Thrones alum didn’t hesitate to share her opinion about Ozempic and its advertisements.
On April 5, 2023, the actress reposted a tweet by writer Sophie Vershbow in her Instagram Story, which said, “The Ozempic ads plastered across the Times Square subway station can f–k all the way off.” Vershbow’s Twitter pictures showed two ads with texts, “One shot to lose weight,” and “A weekly shot to lose weight,” respectively.
Turner added, “WTF.”
Ozempic’s manufacturer Novo Nordisk has told E! News that the drug is not approved by the FDA for chronic weight management.
“Although we understand that some healthcare providers may still use Ozempic to help patients who are looking to lose weight, Novo Nordisk is not promoting, supporting, or encouraging the off-label use of our drugs and is fully committed to complying with all applicable U.S. laws and regulations in the promotion of our products,” the Danish pharmaceutical company said in a statement. “We believe that healthcare providers are assessing each patient’s situation and deciding on the best treatment for that individual.”

Chelsea Handler
Chelsea Handler admits that she didn’t even realize she had been given Ozempic as her “anti-aging doctor” just prescribed it without telling her more than that.
“I didn’t even know that I had been put on it,” she revealed on the Jan. 25, 2023, episode of Call Her Daddy. “She told me, ‘If you want to lose five pounds at some point, it’s great.'”
Chelsea gave it a go and soon realized she didn’t like the way it made her feel. “I came back from a holiday and I gave myself a shot of it,” she said. “I went to have lunch with a girlfriend a few days later, and she said, ‘I haven’t been really eating. I’m so nauseous. I’m on Ozempic.’ And I was like, ‘I’m kind of nauseous too.’ But I had just come back from Spain and was jet-lagged.”
The main reason for her doing the drug was that she thought it was unnecessary for her medically—and she gifted the leftover doses to friends.
“I’ve thrown four or five of my friends in with Ozempic, because I figured I didn’t want to use it since it was stupid,” she said. “It’s meant for overweight people. I have people coming over my house, and I’m like, ‘OK, I can see you at 1, I can see you at 2.'”
