Brandi Glanville’s Medical Crisis Deepens As Friend Makes Desperate Move

Brandi Glanville has struggled with several major physical issues over the years, and the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member is once again facing an especially difficult period as she tries to uncover what is going on.

The reality star, 53, has shared what’s been happening with an unusual level of openness, releasing videos and making updates with fans as she treats a combination of challenging medical ‍ ‌‍ ‍‌issues.

Now, the financial side of the ordeal has become a major concern too. Gina Rodriguez, the lifelong friend of Glanville, has raised a GoFundMe page with an appeal to raise money for the treatment Glanville needs.

This is an initiative to gather financial resources that the GoFundMe team will use to get her various treatments, medications, specialty medical care, the hospital procedures and operations she is going to need, her dental care, payment of her insurance, and to maintain her basic living needs. The fundraiser has a $28,000 goal.

Rodriguez says Glanville is going to continue with the treatment for several more months, and as such, she cannot do her work normally due to the time and level of energy required for her medical ‍care.

Glanville shared her latest health update just days before the fundraiser launched. Some of her most detailed updates yet are about the conditions she says doctors have diagnosed, including highly resistant ESBL Klebsiella and Enterobacter with biofilm, Coccidioidomycosis, also known as Valley Fever, Demodex dermatitis, and mononucleosis.

She has also said she has a hard mass in her face that she describes as a “fungal ball” and that doctors need to remove it surgically.

Rodriguez is now asking for help because the cost of Glanville’s treatment has become difficult to handle.

The GoFundMe campaign, called “Standing with Brandi Glanville Through Her Treatment,” aims to help Brandi Glanville. The GoFundMe website claims that Brandi Glanville spent the last three years doctor shopping, trying to figure out what is happening to her.

The crowdfunding campaign has a target amount of $28,000. According to Gina Rodriguez, Brandi Glanville pays around $3,300 to $6,000 each month for the treatment alone, and that number is, after all, only the treatment fee part.

This does not account for the other costs that come along with her treatment, such as other medical procedures, prescriptions, doctors’ visits, dental care, and general living expenses.

At the time of writing the campaign has raised only $196 from four contributions. The fund goal of $28,000 is still a long way off she explained that Brandi Glanville, due to her illness, struggles to work.

Rodriguez said that Brandi’s podcast is currently the only work she has been able to maintain consistently. However, the fact that she spends so many hours getting treatment makes it hard for her to continue working and to earn the income she is normally able to earn. That is why Rodriguez asked the public to support their ‍campaign

Brandi Glanville says her condition has now spread down her arm

One of the biggest developments in Glanville’s latest updates is that she says the problem that began in her face has now spread down her right arm.

In an emotional Instagram video she shared on September 8, Glanville explained that the issue had originally been concentrated in her face.

“It used to only be here,” she said while pointing to her face, explaining that over the years without a proper diagnosis, she believes it has spread. “Now it goes down my right arm,” she said.

She also showed followers the area of her face where she says there is a large, hard mass. Glanville described the mass as a “fungal ball” and said she desperately wants it removed.

“The ‍mass is hard as a rock,” she commented, adding that she cannot stand this and wants the thing completely removed.

Readers should take these statements carefully because Glanville has discussed the mass and the nature of her condition mainly through her personal social media posts, and the outside public does not have access to her full medical records.

Therefore, although she states doctors have identified her issues, a more precise explanation would involve ascribing the diagnoses and explanations to Glanville and her medical team rather than presenting every detail as independently ‍ ‌confirmed.

Brandi Glanville Says Ultrasound Found 'Something Alive' and 'Moving' in Her Face

Brandi Glanville says an ultrasound showed something “alive” and moving

The latest health revelations became even more alarming when Brandi Glanville talked about an ultrasound.

In one of her most recent videos, Glanville stated that doctors performed imaging scans such as an MRI and ultrasound while they continued to investigate the problems affecting her face.

Glanville’s account is that the ultrasound technician revealed that there was something “alive” in her face and that it looked like it was moving. “She’d never been a witness of such a thing,” said Glanville.

She became a bit of a joke online since people have noticed that she talked about finding a creepy little worm or a bug living inside of her face. Even so, no detailed report has yet explained exactly what the imaging showed that led to doctors making these remarks.

This distinction is important because Glanville has spent years trying to understand her symptoms.

Her facial health problems have included swelling, painful bumps, drastic appearance changes, and she even mentioned that the entire situation was an extremely hard time for both body and ‍soul.

Brandi Glanville has several diagnoses she says doctors have identified

On September 8, Glanville said she was finally ready to share more about what she has been fighting.

Among the conditions she discussed were highly resistant ESBL Klebsiella and Enterobacter with biofilm, Coccidioidomycosis, or Valley Fever, Demodex dermatitis, and mononucleosis.

In addition to these infections, she noted that doctors identified a fungal ball in her face and plan to remove it surgically.

According to the fundraiser and recent reports, the current treatment plan includes months of daily IV medication through a PICC line. Rodriguez said Glanville is expected to remain on treatment for at least four to six months, possibly longer depending on how she responds.

Glanville has described the treatment as extremely difficult. So far, she says she has seen very little improvement, despite the amount of treatment she is receiving.

“I just want this s*** OUT of my body,” she said in one of her recent updates. “she said she I want my health back. I want my life back. I want to feel like me again.”

Her IV treatments can last most of the day

Another part of Glanville’s current routine that has shocked fans is the amount of time she spends receiving IV treatment. In recent videos, she documented preparing her medications and described spending roughly 18 hours a day dealing with IV infusions.

She had also demonstrated to the family what a PICC line looks like and revealed she has had to do self-care with a nurse’s support. She mentioned that one of the drugs she received is imipenem which is a powerful antibacterial used to treat severe infections.

Glanville revealed that her appetite has been severely affected by this therapy leading to noticeable weight loss. “I feel like I’m at the end and looking like it too,” she said to a group of friends, displaying the part of her treatment schedule where her condition was particularly bad.

She further said she seldom steps out of her home because treatment is one of the biggest parts of her day. Recording her podcast was one of the very limited creative activities she still can ‍handle.

The fundraiser describes the situation similarly, saying that the treatment schedule has made normal work extremely difficult.

She has already spent more than $200,000 searching for answers

This ‍latest fundraiser also happens just two days after Glanville announced how much this process has cost her at the moment.

In February she said she had visited about 21 doctors and spent more than $200,000 trying to find out what was wrong with her.

That total was way more than she had mentioned before, when it was over $70,000 that she would not give up on medical testing and treatment costs.

Glanville’s medical issues started back in 2023 after a very exciting experience she had by filming *The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip* in Morocco, which is her latest show for the Real Housewives franchise. She thought that a particular thing she consumed on her Morocco trip could have caused a very severe infection or a parasite.

She disclosed later that doctors at the time had diagnosed her with stress-induced angioedema, a condition which had caused such bad facial swelling that one might confuse it with edema.

Throughout the time the symptoms continued, Glanville kept looking for other reasons. Over the following several years, she went from specialist to specialist, undergoing several tests and treatments.

In the end, a sonogram (an imaging technology) identified that one of Glanville’s old silicone breast implants had indeed been damaged. Glanville claimed this finding at least partly provided a reason for the many symptoms she had been going ‍through.

Brandi Glanville Undergoes Life-Saving Surgery for Leaking and Ruptured Breast Implants: 'Scared to Death' (Exclusive)

The breast implant story is more complicated than it first appeared

The breast implants became an important part of Glanville’s health story earlier this year.

She said doctors had inserted one implant 18 years ago and that it had ruptured. During a surgery in February, the doctors took out the damaged implant and saw that the problem was even more serious than ‍ ‌‍ ‍‌expected.

But there was an unexpected part of the surgery. Although many people assumed Glanville would have the implants removed permanently, reports from the procedure said she chose to receive new implants.

That means it would be inaccurate to simply say that she “had her implants removed” and leave the story there. Her newest fundraiser, however, says that removing her breast implants is once again part of the treatment plan recommended by her doctors.

That is something that has emerged in her latest health update and should be presented as part of her current treatment plan rather than as a simple continuation of February’s surgery. She also says she needs old metal dental work removed and is facing additional procedures.

There is also a benign tumor in the story

One ‍other thing people might have forgotten is that Glanville has already said that doctors discovered a benign tumor in one of her facial lymph nodes. Doctors found the tumor just after her symptoms came back.

This was a new blow, as Glanville had hoped that removing the damaged implant would finally end the years of health problems she had experienced. Instead, the symptoms returned, and she continued looking for answers.

Her current situation is therefore not about one single diagnosis or one procedure. It is a complicated medical situation involving several conditions, ongoing testing, lengthy treatment, and more surgeries.

Brandi Glanville has asked people to be kind

In ‍recent posts, Glanville has shared her challenges in putting herself out there in a really vulnerable way. She feels that doing so is very difficult.

Glanville knows that people will comment on her appearance when she shares updates online, and she would be most exposed when people’s eyes are on her weight and figure, as it has been one of the most dramatic examples of body ‍changes.

At the same time, she has asked followers to remember that she is already dealing with enough.

“I know I’m so skinny right now,” she said while discussing her treatment and difficulty eating.

In another update, Glanville asked people to be kind in the comments because she is already fighting a difficult battle.

That is part of what makes her latest posts different from a typical celebrity health update. Glanville has allowed followers to see the less glamorous side of the process, including the IV bags, medical equipment, physical changes, and long days spent at home.

The road ahead is still long

For now, Glanville’s health battle is far from over. She is facing months of IV treatment, a procedure to remove the mass in her face, dental work, and other surgeries.

Her friend’s fundraiser also says that the treatment could last longer than four to six months depending on how her body responds. And financially, the pressure is significant.

The current treatment is already costing thousands of dollars every month, while Glanville is unable to work normally. That is why Rodriguez has turned to the public for help.

The GoFundMe is not simply about paying for one operation. According to the campaign, the money will help Glanville get through the entire stretch of treatment, from IV medication and specialist appointments to surgeries, dental care, and basic expenses while she is unable to work as she normally would.

After years of searching for answers, Glanville finally has more information about what she is dealing with. But having answers has not made the journey easy. If anything, her latest updates show just how much she still has ahead of her.

For Glanville, the goal is simple. She wants to get through the treatment, get the mass removed from her face, and finally feel like herself again. “I want my health back. I want my life back,” she said. And right now, that is what she is fighting for.
