It is said that Brad Pitt’s and Angelina Jolie’s daughter Vivienne is asking legally to no longer be known by her father’s last name.
So Vivienne’s move to court is in continuation of legal name change petitions from her brothers Zahara and Maddox. The court document says that the reason behind her name change is “personal.”
To be clear, the children of Brad and Angelina have been living with the mother following the breakup of this superstar couple in 2024.
Vivienne Jolie-Pitt Files to Change Her Legal Name
Vivienne (18) has filed a lawsuit at the Los Angeles County Superior Court for a change of her legal name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie.
Copies of the court papers provided by PEOPLE state that the reason given is “personal.” The judge will decide in two weeks’ time as the hearing for Vivienne’s petition is set on November 2.
Back in May, the 18-year-old was credited with a play on Broadway named The Outsiders as “Vivienne Jolie.” Vivienne worked with her mom to put up the production.

Jolie-Pitt Vivienne is not the only one who has gone for a court order to change her name after their parents’ breakup. Even her siblings, Zahara and Maddox, have also taken the same path.
The court documents filed by the three children show that Zahara wants to become “Zahara Marley Jolie” while the other, Maddox, wishes to be called “Maddox Chivan Jolie”.
The dates when the court will hear the two cases have been released – the one of Maddox is to take place on September 14, while the one of Zahara on the 28th of the same month.
Shiloh, who at that time was 15 and also their daughter, had changed her name in 2024 to remove the word “Pitt from her surname and is now known as “Shiloh Jolie.
According to a recent news piece in August that year, the request had been granted. Speaking about this, sources at the time explained that the situation was difficult to be seen from any angle other than the side of the one whose children they had to see getting alienated from the parent.
