Best Places to Celebrate Christmas

Christmas is just around the corner. For many of us, this is music to the ear as we get a chance to spend time with friends and family. To others, it is the perfect time to travel and celebrate with people from different cultures worldwide. Personally, I’ll be ditching my regular Verde Casino and visiting a new gambling destination.

If you don’t have plans or are searching for the next best place to celebrate Christmas this year, this article is for you. Whether you are like me, searching for the best gambling destination with five-star hotels, or simply want a getaway with family, we have you covered.

Berlin, Germany

Germany’s capital city is the ideal place for anyone looking for a gambling session this Christmas. In addition to various iconic features dotted throughout the city, you can visit some beautiful markets with plenty of deals during Christmas.

Once you have a fill of what the markets have to offer, you can head over to the casinos. You won’t help but notice the many establishments spread throughout the city. However, if you are looking for a five-star treatment, we highly recommend Fernsehturm and Spielbank Casinos. The latter is, without a doubt, the standout, featuring three floors of entertaining casino games.

Dublin, Ireland

If you are a big fan of poker games, then we recommend The Fitz in Dublin. The Irish have a reputation for partying hard, and it’s all about that as they celebrate during the Christmas holidays.

Before visiting the casinos, ensure you see the Guinness factory, the little museum of Dublin, and the shop on Grafton Street. Ensure you also visit St. Stephens Green.

After that, visit the iconic Fitzwilliam Casino and Card Club, popularly known as The Fitz. This renowned poker club has a reputation for hosting electrifying tournaments. If you thought you’d seen people who know how to hide their poker faces, wait until you visit this joint.

The Cosmopolitan,  Las Vegas

I know it is cliché always to include a Vegas destination, but there is no way one can avoid it. Vegas is home to some of the biggest five-star hotels that double up as gambling establishments. So, if you plan to make your first trip to the vegas strip, ensure you visit The Cosmopolitan.

The Cosmopolitan consists of two high-rise towers commonly referred to as the Chelsea and Boulevard towers. Inside the towers are a casino, recreational centers, fitness facilities, retail stores, and spas. This makes it a perfect destination for shoppers who double up as gamblers.

The Hippodrome of London

The Hippodrome Casino is at the heart of London and offers you more than entertaining games. Before visiting the luxurious establishment, ensure you visit the London Eye and Big Ben during the day. They are close to the Hippodrome Casino and one of London’s many tourist attractions.

Later in the evening, you can visit the Hippodrome. Pass by the high-quality restaurants to enjoy a sumptuous meal. If you are a big fan of live performances, you can visit the theatre before finally hitting the casino floor.

You don’t have to travel halfway across the world just to enjoy a casino game. Maybe all you want for Christmas is to spend a little time with your family, enjoying the treasures the festive season offers. If this is the case, the destinations below suit you.

New York City, USA

Christmas is a big deal in the Empire State. At least, that is what several films have shown us in the past. True to what we’ve been made to believe, New York City gets busier than usual with all sorts of activities during the festive season.

You will be awed by the tallest Christmas tree in the world, which you can see at the Rockefeller Center. You can also visit the Christmas markets spread all over town. Ensure you also visit some of the brightly decorated stores where special deals await the curious shoppers.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam is a popular tourist destination during the festive season. The narrative of Santa Claus – otherwise known as Sinterklaas by the locals – is widely told in the Dutch capital. So popular is the Christmas holiday that every house is decked with sparkling lights as early as December. It’s a tradition that goes way back to the 16th and 17th-century.

So, when you visit the city, we highly recommend you get a local to take you around because there are usually so many activities you may get mixed up on what to do. Don’t be quick to leave. The highlight is usually New Year’s Eve when fireworks and champagne are lit and shared at the Nieuwmarkt and Dam Square.

Vienna, Austria

If you are searching for a destination where you enjoy a good old-fashioned Christmas holiday with the aroma of sweetened wine in the air, glittering Christmas decorations, and three massive Christmas markets, Vienna is your destination. You can discover and purchase ornaments and wares made by local artisans. The local restaurants also have special menus special for the Christmas holiday.

Kenya, East Africa

This list would not be complete without mentioning the country where The Green City in the Sun is found. Kenya is a paradise filled with scenic landscapes and abundant wildlife, not forgetting to mention the rich culture and picturesque mountain capes. During Christmas, you get to experience 43 different ways you can enjoy the festive holidays, as each tribe has unique ways and traditions.

After the holidays, you can spend a week and enjoy feeding wild Giraffes at the Giraffe center, go sky diving in Diani, or set sail at Lake Naivasha. Make sure you also board their unique “matatus,” which will give you a closer look at the fun way Kenyans commute to work every day.
