Alaina Scott Reflects on a Long Road to Motherhood — “Month after month we prayed for this little miracle”
Alaina Scott, 32, who is expecting her first child with husband Matt Moeller, opened up about the emotional toll of trying to conceive before her pregnancy earlier this year. “Month after month we prayed for this little miracle,” she wrote on Instagram Nov. 22, noting that “no one prepares you for how hard TTC [trying to conceive] is and the emotional strain it causes you. Every month hoping maybe this is it, maybe this is our turn.”
Scott—whose biological mother is Dawn Scott, the late sister of Eminem’s ex‑wife Kim Mathers—said she and Matt, who married in 2023, manifested the pregnancy by writing a prayer on the walls of their home while it was being built, “hoping for a healthy baby and a positive test in 2025.” She shared that same spot is where she told Matt their prayers had come true and where they’ll raise their daughter, calling it “a true full circle moment.”

The tearful moment of seeing a positive pregnancy test for the first time was captured by Alaina Scott in a video to her Instagram announcement, as she is waiting for her daughter’s arrival. “I couldn’t be more excited to have our little girl in my arms, and to love her with my whole self,” she said. “Keep growing baby, I’ll be seeing you soon.”

Hailie Jade Says Motherhood Helped Her Understand Eminem’s Balance Between Privacy and Pride
Right after her birth, Hailie—who had a son with husband Evan McClintock—said that being a mother made her see her father’s point in a different way. “I have come to understand the struggle my father was dealing with gradually. I think he was very proud of his kids but at the same time wanting to protect the family from any kind of intrusion”, the 29-year-old told People in June. “It is really a matter of balancing what you share with the world and what you keep for yourselves”, she said, noting that this balance has become even more important for her since she has become a parent.
Alaina and Hailie are not only the significant women in Eminem’s life. Check out his family tree for more.
Kim Mathers — Eminem’s Long-Time Love and Mother of Hailie Jade
Kim Mathers, born Kimberly Ann Scott in Michigan, was Eminem’s high‑school sweetheart and shared their daughter Hailie Jade in 1995. The couple had a tumultuous relationship, which was their life pattern with on‑and‑off periods, resulting in marriages from 1999 to 2001 and briefly again in 2006, and has been mentioned in Eminem’s songs like “’97 Bonnie & Clyde,” “Puke” and “Bad Husband”.
Kim, talking about them going through the same cycle, told 20/20 in 2007, “Our relationship had a pattern. We would have two good years and then it would go bad for some reason. It’s like a two-year maximum with us and we hadn’t reached the two years yet. I just didn’t want to rush into anything before the two years.” She has also, however, said nice things about Eminem as a father: “He loves the kids very much. He’s always giving a helping hand.”
Hailie Jade — Eminem’s Daughter, Scholar and New Mom
Hailie Jade Scott came into the life of Eminem and Kim Scott on Dec. 25, 1995 — a birth the rapper referred to as a “real wake‑up call” that prompted him to “get my a– in gear.” “Everything that I am doing right now is for Hailie,” he said to Q magazine in 2001, later on clarifying that his money was for her college.
Afterward, she lived with Eminem in his 15,000‑square‑foot Detroit‑area home and continued her studies in psychology at Michigan State University, where she got acquainted with Evan McClintock. Hailie accomplished 3.9 GPA at Michigan State and got married to the fiancé she proposed last year in May 2024. Eminem has been like a proud father to her success and in 2020 he said, “She’s made me proud for sure.”
Hailie revealed her pregnancy in October 2024, of her first child with Evan. In March 2025, the duo had a baby boy whom they named Elliot Marshall McClintock.
Alaina Marie Scott — Brought up by Eminem, Got Married in 2023 and is Going to Have Her First Baby
Alaina Marie Scott was born on Feb. 22, 1993. She is the daughter of the Kim’s sister, Dawn Scott. Due to her mother’s addiction, Eminem took Alaina to court for adoption in the early 2000s. He told Rolling Stone in 2004: “I have full custody of my niece and joint custody of Hailie.” So, she was mostly brought up in his residence. Alaina, who graduated from Oakland University and refers to the rapper as “dad”, got support from Eminem when she tied the knot with Matt Moeller in June 2023; Hailie was the maid of honor.
Her mother Dawn passed away in 2016 at the age of 41. Alaina announced in October 2025 that she and Matt are going to have their first child, a baby girl.
Stevie Laine Scott — April 16, 2002; Eminem adopted; nonbinary in 2021
Stevie Laine Scott was born on April 16, 2002, to Kim Mathers and her boyfriend at that time, Eric Hartter. Eminem formally adopted Stevie in 2005 after he and Kim got back together. In a TikTok video made in August 2021, Stevie identified themselves as nonbinary for the first time and also mentioned that they use “all pronouns” in the video, which is captioned “forever growing and changing.”
Debbie Nelson — Eminem’s mother and a central figure in his family story
Debbie Nelson came into this world in 1955 at a military base in Kansas. At 15, she became the wife of Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr., and, 16 months later, expecting her son, Marshall (Eminem), she went to live with her mom’s mother in Michigan. She often appears as a target in the lyrics of Eminem, the most notable being his “Cleanin’ Out My Closet,” where he accused her of abusing prescription pills, a claim she contradicted in her 2008 autobiography My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem. “Which mom would want to be known as a pill-popping alcoholic who lives off welfare?” she argued that the accusations were lies, and the falsehoods that drove the rift between them. Later, in his 2013 song “Headlights,” Eminem regretted having made such a family affair public. Debbie Nelson passed away, after cancer, at the age of 69 in 2024.
