Adventurous Things to Do in Cancun
Canopy Tours
There are many agencies offering canopy tours in Cancun, if you opt for one of them you’ll embark yourself on an adventure with more than just zip lines. One of the biggest draws of these canopy tours is how diverse they are, for example, you can find tours with 10 different zip lines, aqua zip lines where you’ll get soaked, and Tarzania, almost like an amusement park with ropes and hanging bridges.
A popular area for this kind of tour is Loma Bonita Cancun Park. A three-hour tour that includes soft launches and drinks without alcohol, all you need to bring is your towel, sunglasses, and swimsuit. You can find different packages, and it’s suitable for kids from 3 years old and beyond to adults.
Swim on a Cenote
A good draw of Cancun is you can find a huge amount of cenotes, more than 5 different cenotes. Many of the tours available in the area sometimes include a visit to a cenote, but many of the swim holes are very popular and touristic.
One of the most beautiful cenotes in Cancun is Ik Kil, it’s part of an archeological park that has the same name, and it’s close to the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, making both perfect for a day trip. A turquoise water, top open cenote with vines hanging from the top into the waters, offering a breathtaking landscape.
Kayak Tour on Laguna Nichupte
Enjoy a 3 hour kayak tour on the Nichupte Lagoon, checking out the aquatic landscape. Nichupte Lagoon is located on the east side of Cancun, right behind the hotel zone of the area. It offers turquoise water to kayak while checking out the mangroves and the many animals that live there.
The views from the open side of the lagoon are priceless, making the Caribbean sunset a real delight.
