Chris Bosh has frequently expressed how much family means to him — and that it’s something he and his wife, Adrienne Bosh, dreamed about since the very beginning of their relationship.
“While we were dating, Adrienne and I had a lot of pillow talk about having kids and raising a big family,” the retired NBA star told PEOPLE at one point. “It’s actually happening and we are really excited about it!”
In addition to that, in February 2026, Chris also revealed an alarming health situation. In a video posted on Instagram, he explained that he was going to have a date with Adrienne when he suddenly experienced a medical emergency.
“I woke up covered in my own blood,” he recalled. “It was really crazy. It came so fast. It was basically instant. No warning, no indication, no time to prepare.”

Chris and Adrienne first met in 2009 at a soccer charity event in New York City that was hosted by another NBA player. At that time, it is believed that Adrienne didn’t even know that Chris was a player for the Toronto Raptors.
Adrienne recalled to Baller Alert, “Chris was there and I was with my girlfriends. We ended up meeting accidentally, my girlfriend was initially talking to one of his friends, that’s how we actually met… it was sort of one of those awkward moments when you’re just sitting there both [silently before making polite small talk].”
Although the introduction was a little bit awkward, they exchanged phone numbers and continued communicating for months. Eventually, Chris invited her out for a date, and soon after, they became a couple.
They Had a Glamorous Wedding Celebration
They quietly got married in April 2011, and Chris and Adrienne Bosh threw a grand party at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach in July.
The three-day affair was attended by 300 guests, including Serena Williams, Gabrielle Union, LeBron James, and Dwyane Wade. One of the guests told PEOPLE at the time it was “the Royal Wedding of Miami”, pointing out the meticulousness of the event – everything from the couple’s and guests’ personalized items to the custom scents that were infused throughout the entire event were top-notch.
The festivities started with a 1950s Cuba-style casino party. The next night, the reception hall was decorated with orchid trees, scented candles, and seating cards hanging from silk ribbons. There was even a “Sweetheart Pool” by the ocean where the guests could cool down.
Adrienne donned a strapless Oscar de la Renta dress along with a lace veil and belt. She wore custom Christian Louboutin shoes worth $10,000 that had their soles painted blue in line with the “something blue” tradition.
As a grand finale to the festivities, Chris gave Adrienne a Cartier necklace while she surprised him with an Aston Martin – thus, it was a weekend, as one insider said, that was “over-the-top and special” and memorable.

Chris Bosh and Adrienne have always had the desire for a big family and now, they certainly have one.
Chris had a daughter, Trinity, with his previous girlfriend, Allison Mathis, on November 2, 2008, before he got together with Adrienne. Subsequently, Chris and Adrienne had a total of four children.
“I love having lots of children around, and a big family is great for holidays and other traditions,” Adrienne explained to PEOPLE. “It’s really nice to see them grow and become united adults.”
Jackson Anthony was born to the couple on May 3, 2012, and their first daughter, Dylan Skye, followed on November 4, 2013. Afternoon of March 15, 2016, Adrienne gave birth to the couple’s twins, Lennox Noel and Phoenix Avery.

“I have 5 kids and each one of them has a totally different personality from the others. I really don’t want to be the parent who tries to push their kid to be all the things they didn’t work through in themselves,” she said to the media.
Adrienne also mentioned that she talks to her children in a way that boosts their confidence and helps them feel good about themselves, which is why she stresses self-love and self-acceptance so much. “More than anything, I want my kids to grow up with high self-esteem, empathy, and compassion not only for others but also for themselves.”
Adrienne Bosh Is an Entrepreneur
Adrienne Bosh threw open the doors of her retail boutique Sparkle & Shine Darling in Miami Beach in November 2015. It wasn’t just a store, the darling also had three event spaces where baby showers, weddings, and parties of all kinds could be held. The store was also the venue for many events like book signings and lectures.
“Chris surprised me with a celebration for my 29th birthday in Paris, and that’s how I came up with the idea of the store,” she explained to PEOPLE in 2015. “He set up a tea party scene for me there with all sorts of gifts bought at 25 stores and flea markets. I totally enjoyed it and when I returned, I wanted to do something like this all in one place.”
The brick-and-mortar store happened to close its doors in 2018 as the family relocated to Texas, however, the brand still has an Instagram presence.
Adrienne Bosh Is Also a Philanthropist
One of the great loves of Adrienne’s life is giving back to the community through charitable work with her husband, Chris, who is also a philanthropist. Together, they have been very instrumental in setting up a mentorship program, Team Tomorrow Inc., which according to their Instagram, is “committed to helping community organizations that work towards the empowerment of children, women, families, and the community.”
Through this program, the Boshes have for several years arranged a number of successful fundraisers to benefit a wide variety of local charities and causes such as military support and raising awareness about domestic violence.
Adrienne also contributes to the work of Every Mother Counts which is a nonprofit organization that aims at making pregnancy and childbirth safer for mothers all over the world. Her Instagram shows that she is among the founder’s circle members of the group.
“I really do consider children’s welfare as one of my main priorities,” she shared with Mama and Tata in 2019.
