Kendall Vertes starts a podcast reflecting on life after the Dance Moms
At the age of 22, Kendall Vertes launched her new podcast Not So Little with Kendall Vertes on Nov. 13 via Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network. This is her trek from a kid star to an adult, which also includes life after college and her exit from the reality TV world in 2017.
The podcast name is a reference to one of the most memorable moments of Dance Moms when her mom, Jill Vertes, was heard calling her “my little Kendall” in season 2. Kendall feels that the expression quite appropriately reflects the content of the show as it concentrates on personal development and the future.

Kendall Vertes Aims for Maturity and Authenticity with New Podcast
“This is going to be a maturing podcast to me, like I am moving away from my childhood and turning it into something more mature,” Kendall Vertes clarified. “It is very nice because it doesn’t define who I am and it allows me to talk about literally anything, if I want.”
She admits that most of her crowd is coming from the fans of the show Dance Moms and is thankful for the opportunity that the show has given her. “It would be dumb of me to pretend that my fan base is not from Dance Moms,” she said, pointing out that she is not throwing away her TV past.
Vertes, however, considers Not So Little as her next book—a jump to “bigger and better things” where she can show the real person of her and the sides that have never been revealed from the screen.
Kendall Vertes shares the truth about her personality on Dance Moms
“What the entire [Dance Moms] audience thought was that I was basically sobbing for 45 minutes … They didn’t understand that I had a whole other side to me which I didn’t show,” said Kendall Vertes. “I was 8 years old. I never spoke. We were never really allowed to speak until later on in the seasons.”
She said in addition, “People always assume that they know me as a person based on what they saw on the TV. And I’m like, No, that is only 15 to 20 percent of my actual self. They showed you my worst times because, you know, they had to make a good reality TV show.”

Kendall Vertes’ podcast promises conversations that are intimate and varied
Not So Little will be an intimate look of Kendall Vertes into her personal life, social circle, and family through the eyes of the viewers. She has a “vlog-esque” kind of style in mind, where she would combine her trips and daily routine with talks with a changing group of people that the viewers would already know or be new guests.
“I want it to be interesting for all viewers,” Vertes said. “I want athletes and authors and musicians, kind of everybody from any background that’s willing to come. That’s the most exciting part: the unknown of like, ‘Oh my gosh, who can I have on next week?’”
