Do you know that there are some fishing charter etiquettes that you need to learn before heading on this remarkable journey? If you choose to go unaware of them, this trip would be nothing you ever expected. Need help in learning etiquette? Here are a few tips.
- Get the know-how
- Tell your captain the kind of experience you want and get an advice
- Do not take bananas on this journey
- Throw the garbage in the garbage can
- Tip the captain
Get the know-how
There might not be any better advice/tip to be a better fishing client than this one. Before embarking on the journey, the captain usually gives all the necessary instructions to everyone. However, it’s still a good idea to have a little know-how. Fortunately, we have opened our eyes to a very advanced world. It’s not that hard to get the little know-how. All you have to do is search on Google, it has answers to all of your queries and the other information you need to be a better client. It would leave a good impression on the captain. So, if your previous experience was not that great, try getting the know-how and going on the journey once again.
Tell your captain the kind of experience you want and get an advice
Everyone’s preferences are different, therefore, almost every client the captain meets in a day requires a different experience. The captain usually has no clue what kind of experience you want. They are experts in reading the weather, fish behavior, and water conditions, do not expect them to read your mind as well. Almost every single time I have been on this journey, I have the captains appreciating the clients who are vocal about the kind of experience they want. Therefore, to be a good client you have to open up to your captain, it would guarantee you a good time.
Do not take bananas on this journey
Most clients have no clue that bananas are not allowed to be taken with them on this journey. You can take almost everything but not bananas. It is because the captains are a bit superstitious. They think if you take a banana with you on this journey, nothing would go right. Whether you believe all the superstitions related to bananas or not, to be a good client you have to respect the captain’s belief.
Throw the garbage in the garbage can
It’s quite common for people to take processed food items with them on this journey. It has also been observed that people throw the leftovers in water, boats, and everywhere else where they should not be thrown. It annoys the captain and leaves a bad impression on other people as well. Therefore, what you need to do is be a little more responsible and throw the garbage in the garbage can.
Tip the captain
The captains put so much effort into making this journey memorable. They truly deserve the tip. Put the tip in the tip jar, it can be 5% to 10% of the total cost.
